Motor homes, trailers, personal watercraft, motorcycles, and other two-wheeled motorized vehicles are not permitted within resort gates. With advance notice, the Guest Experience team may assist with arrangements for motorcycle parking. For arrangements, call 843.886.6000
Wild Dunes Resort is not responsible for the loss of any personal items or valuables. Safety deposit boxes are available upon request. You can report a lost item by clicking here, our resort team will send you a communication if it was found.
Changing your arrival or departure date is considered a cancellation of the original dates.
A 16% resort fee is added to each accommodation rate (subject to change) and includes the following:
Sales and accommodations tax: 14% (subject to change)
Destination fee: $2 + tax per night
Beach renourishment fee: $2 + tax per night
Rates are subject to change without notice.
Clothing, towels, and personal items may not be hung from balconies or railings per Wild Dunes Community Association regulations.
Where is Wild Dunes Resort located?
Wild Dunes Resort is located on Isle of Palms, South Carolina, a barrier island just 30 minutes from downtown Charleston and 23 miles from Charleston International Airport.
What address do I enter into GPS to get to Wild Dunes?

What makes Isle of Palms a great vacation spot?
Isle of Palms offers wide beaches, warm coastal weather, outdoor recreation, family activities, and easy access to historic Charleston and the surrounding islands, making it ideal for both relaxation and adventure. Wild Dunes offers year-round recreation and things to do.
How far is the resort from Charleston?
Wild Dunes Resort is approximately 30 minutes from historic downtown Charleston (varies by time of year and traffic).
How far is the resort from the nearest airport?

Does Wild Dunes offer transportation from the airport?
We do not have an airport shuttle but we partner with local transportation companies that you can arrange travel with, click here to learn more.
What parking options are available at Wild Dunes?
Valet parking is the only available option on property. Daily valet service is offered at a rate of $35 per day.
How do I get my gate pass?
When you arrive at the Welcome Gate of the resort, our Guest Experience team there will orientate you with the resort and check your gate pass or can provide you with a pass.
If I have additional vehicles arriving with me who have last names different from mine, what do I do?
If you are traveling with two or more vehicles, the additional vehicles may obtain entry passes at the Wild Dunes Welcome Center by providing the guard with the last name associated with your reservation. The attendant will provide additional green guest passes for the remainder of your stay.
What if I have guests visiting us while staying at Wild Dunes?
If you are expecting drive-in visitors during your stay, you’ll need to grant them access through the Welcome Center.
Contact the Guest Experience team at 843.886.6000 or extension 0 at least one hour prior to your visitor’s arrival.
Are there any motorized vehicles not permitted on the Resort?
Motor Homes, boat trailers, personal watercraft, motorcycles and other two wheeled motorized vehicles are prohibited within the gates of Wild Dunes. Wild Dunes Resort makes no provision for parking/storage of such vehicles.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in begins at 4:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM.
What if I am arriving late at Wild Dunes?
Late check-in is always available. However, if arriving after 8 pm, please contact us at 843.886.6000 so that we may better plan for your arrival.
Do I need credit card authorization for purchases around the resort?
Yes, you can conveniently charge Resort purchases to your room. To enable room charges to avoid carrying credit cards and cash around property, please visit the Front Desk at the Boardwalk Inn or Sweetgrass Inn.
How old do you have to be to check-in at Wild Dunes?
Guests must be 18 years of age to check-in to at Sweetgrass Inn, Boardwalk Inn, and the Residences at Sweetgrass.
Guests must be 21 years of age to check-in to our vacation homes and condos.
Is the resort ADA accessible?
Yes—Wild Dunes Resort offers ADA-accessible rooms, pathways, public spaces, and beach access.

What Wi-Fi connectivity is available at Wild Dunes?
Wild Dunes offers complimentary Wi-Fi in all Boardwalk Inn guest rooms, Sweetgrass Inn guest rooms, and Residences at Sweetgrass rooms and suites. Additionally, the Grand Pavilion, Sweetgrass Pool, Boardwalk Inn and Sweetgrass Inn lobby areas, and Shoppes at Sweetgrass are all Wi-Fi hotspots. Because of the Resort’s remote location, some areas of the resort (including homes and condominiums) may have stronger signals than others.
Does Wild Dunes offer shuttle service around the resort?
Complimentary shuttle service is offered within the resort gated community and can be requested between 7am to 11pm.
Are pets allowed at Wild Dunes?
While we love furry friends, pets are not allowed at Wild Dunes or anywhere on the resort grounds. A $400 minimum fee will be assessed, per pet, if in breach of resort policy. Other fees and fines may apply. Service animals are welcome at Wild Dunes Resort and are not subject to the foregoing Pet Policy.
Is outdoor grilling allowed at Wild Dunes?
Outdoor grilling in rental units is strictly prohibited by local fire codes.
Is smoking allowed at Wild Dunes?
Smoking, vaping or use of illegal substances are not permitted in any rental units. Fees starting at $400 will be assessed if smoking occurs in the accommodation.
Are there noise restrictions at Wild Dunes and Isle of Palms?
The City of Isle of Palms noise ordinance requires that “quiet time” is in effect Sunday through Thursday from 10 pm-10 am and Friday and Saturday from 11 pm-10 am and includes noise restrictions on stereos, televisions and any other noise.

Does Wild Dunes offer roll away beds?
Wild Dunes offers roll away beds on a limited basis for an additional fee for guests staying in the Boardwalk Inn and Sweetgrass Inn. Does the resort offer direct beach access?
Yes—Wild Dunes Resort features 2.5 miles of oceanfront with multiple beach access points. Each of the hotels (Sweetgrass Inn, Boardwalk Inn and Residences at Sweetgrass) have beach access paths, click here to learn more.
Many rental homes and villas are located near or on the beach with easy access to Isle of Palms shoreline.

Are beach chairs and umbrellas, or pool cabanas available for rent?
Yes—seasonal rentals are offered through onsite beach partners.
How many pools does Wild Dunes have and are they heated?
The resort offers an array of pools for resort guests including three at Sweetgrass Pool Complex (plus a hot tub and splash pad), two at the Grand Pavilion, one at the Swim Center, and one adult-only pool at the Boardwalk Inn. Visit our Resort Pools page for more details. The pools at the Sweetgrass Pool Complex, Boardwalk Inn adults-only pool and the Swim Center are heated year round.
Those renting Wild Dunes Vacation Rental homes and condos may also enjoy access to the designated complex or private pool associated with their specific vacation rental unit (when available).
Does Wild Dunes offer events and activities?
